Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan

Good News! Highmark and UPMC have reached a multiyear agreement on a contract. All UPMC facilities and providers are in the BCBS network. Find out how Highmark is committed to ensuring health care choice.

Standard Option PPO gives you the freedom to select your health care provider. You receive benefits for covered services performed by both preferred and non-preferred providers. When you use preferred providers, your out-of-pocket expenses, such as coinsurance and copayment amounts, will be less.

Basic Option PPO features a lower premium than Standard Option and no deductibles. Under Basic Option, you must use a preferred provider to receive covered benefits, except in certain situations.

Both options provide additional value to you and your family by offering:

  • Financial incentives for completing the Blue Health Assessment and various on line coaching sessions.
  • Blue365 offers great discounts and valuable information you can use all year long. It is a good resource for living healthier and for keeping you healthy.
  • Blue Health Connection. Call 1-888-258-3432 any time of the day, any day of the week, to talk confidentially to a registered nurse, to listen to an audiotape on the health topic of your choice, and to get information on doctors, hospitals and other health services in your community.
